Step 5: Adjust the Installation Hard Disk Partition

After the steps above, you need to divide the hard disk partition. Select Something else and click Continue. Then the display will appear as in the image below.

Click New Partition Table to create a new partition on the hard disk. Make sure your hard disk is empty. If the hard disk is not empty and you select New Partition Table, all files on the hard disk will be deleted and cannot be restored.

If you are sure that the hard disk is empty, click Continue to continue the process of creating a partition.

Then there will be a new menu list for free space. Select the (+) button, and a display will appear as shown below. 

Then you need to fill in the details of the partition you want to create. Fill in the following data:

  • Size: Enter the amount of storage size to be used.
  • Type For The New Partition: Select the Primary or Logical partition type. Primary is used to save the Ubuntu installation. Whereas Logical is used to store common files on your computer.
  • Mount Point: Enter the symbol / which indicates that this is a system partition.

After filling in the information accordingly, click OK to save the changes. The following are the results of partitioning:

Click the Install Now button to continue the Ubuntu installation process.

Step 6: Select Location Timezone
